PETE SWARBRICK - CHIROPRACTOR

DIRECTOR OF SWINTON CHIROPRACTIC

 

I worked as an associate for several years before starting Monton Chiropractic and subsequently Swinton chiropractic. I have had experience treating hundreds of patients from professional footballers to 87 year old bowling fanatics. I am also one of the few chiropractors in greater Manchester to be awarded an NHS contract.

MY PHILOPHSY

Our bodies allow us to live amazing, exciting lives. We never realise how much we rely on our health until our health lets us down. Quite often though, we let our health down. Without the maintenance and full function of our muscular-skeletal system our lifestyles can becomes impaired.

If we want to give ourselves the best chance of living life to the fullest, then there is a price! We have a little bit of homework to do. This homework comes in the form of exercise and eating a balanced diet. I feel the key word is moderation, I love nothing more than a chicken tikka madras, but I know I have to incorporate this luxury into a balanced diet. We also need to participate in some form of exercise. It ís really true what they say, if you don't use it you lose it.

As we are living longer the stress which are bodies are exposed to is becoming greater and greater. The beauty of chiropractic is that we are not only able to correct dysfunction that arises from our skeletal system we are often able to detect the signs of dysfunction before pain and stiffness arise. Therefore we are often able to stop this possible future discomfort in its tracks.

MY ETHOS

As I chiropractor I am skilled in the knowledge of identifying dysfunction in the spinal joints and muscles. We are then able to utilize specific treatments to correct them. I treat the cause of the complaint not just the symptoms, this reduces the possibility of future recurrences and minimizes wear and tear in the tissues. It is my goal to help you achieve your health goals.

 

CHIROPRACTIC

 

Chiropractic is a profession that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of biomechanical disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal system, particularly involving the spine and its effects on nervous system.

 

Spinal misalignment and muscle dysfunction can be brought on by a number of factors associated with modern day living, including accidents, physical stress, emotional stress, anxiety, poor diet, lack of exercise and repetitive movements. Loss of normal function of the spinal bones can cause compression and inflammation of the joints and nerves that exit from between the spinal vertebrae. These spinal nerves supply every part of your body. Through this connection, spinal problems can affect the function of muscles, joints and organs.

 

Chiropractors use specific manipulation of these joints to restore their normal function. The result is increase in mobility, decrease in any pain and removal of irritation of the nerves restoring health. Along with manipulation chiropractors use deep tissue massage, stretching and acupuncture to restore the function of the muscles.
